Surrender a Pet

Surrender Process

Surrendering a pet to SAW is a compassionate option for pet owners who, due to unforeseen circumstances, can no longer care for their animals. Please provide us with proof that you have tried everything to get the pet adopted and are reaching out to us as a last hope for the pet.

At SAW, we understand that these decisions are difficult and are committed to ensuring that every surrendered pet receives the care and attention they need. By choosing to surrender a pet to us, owners can rest assured that their beloved animals will be placed in a safe and nurturing environment with a foster parent, where they will be given the opportunity to thrive and eventually find a loving new home. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide the best possible outcomes for all animals in our care, and we are here to support pet owners through every step of the surrender process.

Legal Consent

By voluntarily surrendering a pet, owners legally agree to transfer all rights and ownership of the animal to SAW. It is important to note that once an animal is surrendered, the decision is final, and the pet cannot be reclaimed by the owner without completing proper formalities and obtaining explicit approval from SAW.

Once a pet is surrendered to SAW Charity and subsequently adopted by a new family, the former owner relinquishes all rights to the animal. This means that the previous owner will have no legal grounds to request the return of the pet. The surrender process is final, and SAW Charity ensures that all animals are placed in loving homes where they can thrive. The well-being of the pet remains our top priority, and we ask that all former owners respect the new chapter in their pet’s life.
